COVID-19 Business Update #7

Tax Rebate for Home Working
If you are required to work from home due to the COVID-19 lockdown, you may be eligible to claim back tax for the additional costs associated with home working, up to £6 per week, without providing evidence. You may be eligible to claim more, however you will need evidence of the increased costs. More information on the eligibility criteria and how to apply can be found on the Martin Lewis Money Saving Expert blog here (opens in new window)

Tesco Home Delivery at Capacity
Tesco have advised customers to carry on visiting stores in person to do their shopping, as there is “simply not enough capacity” to supply everyone with online shopping. The chain has increased its online capacity by over 20% and recruited 45,000 additional workers to cope with the heightened demand across all stores. It is prioritising delivery slots to those classed as vulnerable, and has contacted 110,000 vulnerable people, the names of whom were provided by the Government. Tesco, along with other major retailers, have begun lifting restrictions placed on individual items, however Tesco still operates a three-item limit on its most sought after items, such as pasta, toilet paper and hand sanitiser.
